Ambient Intelligence describes an environment in which people are involved and assisted by embedded interfaces, intelligent and intuitive, everyday objects communicated between them, which form an electronic environment that recognizes and responds to the presence of individuals involved in it in a invisible and anticipatory. This technology has been called by the European Commission as the main future scenario for the XXI century.

This project creates a scenario of Ambient Intelligence (AmI) focused on the habitat, and based on the furnishings as an interface able to identify and recognize the needs of the user, adapting the environment to meet those needs. In an ideal context, it might even anticipate those needs.

Therefore, the ultimate goal of the project is to create a new category of “intelligent furniture” evolved from the automation features that can interact with My Shed Plans other devices to anticipate the needs of people in certain types of environment.

The tangible results of the project is focused on the development of prototype demonstrators to allow the one hand, have a wide spread of the project in the business, and other experimental validation of ambient intelligence system designed.

In turn, this AmI system is composed of two elements that are also obtained as a result of the project:

Embedded devices in various habitat elements (furniture in this case), which are invisible to the user as to its use, able to detect intentional or unintentional actions (voice, gestures, moods, movements, etc.) and must have some computing power.

A decision making system based on these behaviors (Programming Intelligent Agents).

To demonstrate the feasibility of the approach made, we will design and install a replica of a simulated house, where they can demonstrate the operation of Ambient Intelligence system, both the media and companies in the furniture industry and the general public.
